The peripheral part of the instrument is angled or bent at the tip; the tip may be blunt or pointed, of various shapes for facilitating manipulation with eye tissues, for removing foreign bodies from the eye, for finding and getting hold of eye muscles and placing sutures during surgical correction of strabismus.
